Sam Bish - Deacon
Sam Bish is the Senior Technology Transfer Manager for Life Sciences for Technology Advancement at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Sam earned his Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and his Ph.D. in cell biology and molecular genetics from the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. Sam has attended Open Door Church (ODC) since 2014 and has been a member at ODC since 2016. During his time at ODC and Derwood Bible Church, his church in Maryland before moving to Missouri, Sam has served in children’s ministries, such as AWANA, Children’s church/Sunday School, and after-school tutoring. Sam has also served on search committees for church positions.

Outside of church, he is an avid sports fan and loves all things Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and yes, even Pittsburgh Pirates. Sam plays fantasy football and enjoys attending high school sporting events and other extracurricular activities for his 15 nieces and nephews. Sam also loves spending time with his two sons, Kailum (KJ) and Tatum (Tate), and Mandy, his beautiful wife to whom he has had the tremendous honor and privilege of being married to for over 13 years.
