OPEN DOOR CHALLENGE
The Open Door Challenge is to attend Sunday morning worship service 3 times in a row to see if Open Door Church is the place for you. After completing the challenge, we encourage you to take steps toward becoming a member of the family and plugging in to serve on a ministry team. If you have completed the Open Door Challenge, please let someone on the Welcome Team (orange lanyard) know; we have a small gift for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
GOSPEL-CENTERED
The Gospel is at the heart of everything we do in our corporate gathering. The clear Gospel is presented each week within and connected to the sermon, followed by a time of response. (1 Cor 15:1-4)
BIBLICAL WORSHIP
Our worship team leads the congregation in "psalms and hymns and spiritual songs" (Col. 3:16) with a mixture of contemporary music and modern and traditional hymns. Our focus is not on entertainment and production, but rather on worshiping together as a church family and glorifying God as best we can.
EXPOSITIONAL PREACHING
Our preaching is focused on explaining, interpreting, and applying a specific text of Scripture based on its original context and intent. We regularly go through books of the bible with smaller series mixed in and an occasional topical sermon. (Acts 20:27)
PRAYER
We make prayer an intentional part of every of every service. (Acts 1:14)
When You Arrive
Look for the signs with “Guest Parking” and make yourself at home in one of our convenient parking spots reserved just for you. If you would rather, or if the weather is inclement, you can drop your passengers beneath the awning and then park. As you enter we will have a Welcome Team at the front doors to help you with child care, assist with locating class rooms or seating, and answer any other questions you may have.
Sunday Morning Gathering
Each Sunday morning we gather at 10:00 for coffee, refreshments and fellowship. This is a time catch up with friends, meet new people, and prepare your heart for worship. There is no set agenda, but we encourage you to spend some time in prayer and discussing God's Word.
Sunday Morning Service
Service begins at 10:30 and is held in the main auditorium. The service will last around 70 minutes. Children’s Church (4yrs-3rd) and Nursery (6mos-3yrs) are both offered. Children will be dismissed for Children’s Church and Nursery approximately 20-25 minutes into the service. Children are also welcome to stay in the service, and we have some activity bags for them, if parents want to utilize them. Please check your children in prior to the service at the Child Check-In station. Feel free to ask the Welcome Team (look for orange lanyards) for any clarification when you arrive.
How to Dress
Most people who attend wear business casual attire, but you will find a wide range of dress from shorts & flip-flops to "Sunday best' so don't worry about not fitting in.
